My ancestor Isaac Simmons was born in 1786 in NC, married Elizabeth Fowler, moved to Dallas Co AL before 1830 and then to Pike Co AL where he died. There is no known documentation for the parents of Isaac.
Many erroneous family trees (including Ancestry, WikiTree, and Family Search) lists his parents as John Simmons and Leodosia Gore. This is highly unlikely since Isaac was born 5 years before they were married and Leodosia in her application for a pension lists her children by name and Isaac was NOT included. DNA analysis proves that the two family lines are related but cannot determine an exact relationship.
DNA analysis strongly suggests that Isaac was probably the grandson of Isaac Simmons 1732?-1804 but Isaac was not listed in the Isaac's 1804 will. His father could have died before 1804.
